Abstract

Background: The first hours of life can be critical to a very low birthweight (VLBW) infant. For many, that timeframe occurs outside the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Steps employed to ensure best practices to deliver the same quality of NICU care throughout transport can have life long effects.
