Abstract

In experimental studies in rats with chronic alloxan-induced hyperglycemia, it was found that the use of piracetam for 20 days,
pramiracetam and ginkgo biloba extract to varying degrees help to reduce the effects of mitochondrial dysfunction and energy deficiency in brain neurons. The basis of these mechanisms is the prevention of mitochondrial opening
cyclosporine-A-sensitive pores, reduction of mitochondrial transmembrane potential and increase of synthesis of macroergic phosphates. The most important
the effect under these conditions has pramiracetam.
