Abstract

Since the advent of the Internet, the platforms of learning sites have gradually shifted. However the first report of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in 2019 became the start of the huge and unknown change in the field of e-learning. In this paper, the research period is divided into two parts for the analysis: pre-COVID-19(2018 - 2019) and post-COVID-19(2020 - 2021). We analyzed the data extracted from Web of Science by using the program called CiteSpace (Chen, 2004) and confirmed the top three sub-areas of the pre-COVID-19. They were “E-learning System”, “Investigating Students Acceptance” and “Case Studies.” The top three sub-areas of post-COVID-19 period were “COVID-19 Pandemic”, “Teacher Behavior” and “Academic Achievement”. Through the timeline analysis the overall changes were identified and the promising clusters were predicted. Burst detection analysis also extracted the most significant documents of the e-learning field.
