Abstract

We have fabricated finite superconducting network of Pb, and observed vortex penetration and arrangements using magneto-optical imaging technique. At low temperatures non-uniform penetration of vortices controlled by the thermal instability of the sample is observed after zero-field cooling. Field cooling at low fields also results in a state with inhomogeneously trapped vortices. We discuss the origin of such inhomogeneous state in a finite superconducting network.
