Abstract

After a historical recall about the study of magnetic domains on polycrystalline soft power ferrites, this paper deals with the use of the longitudinal and transverse Kerr effect on these materials. The experimental requirements and the test bench are described. The first results are obtained with DC excitation. The intepretation of the images reveals that the magnetization varies according to two distinct mechanisms: the wall movement and the rotation of the magnetization
