Abstract
An alternative approach, using a combination of coincidence and pulsed polarized electron beam techniques, has been applied to study the cascade effects on the integrated Stokes parameters of the decay photons from the krypton 5p[5/2]3, 5p′[3/2]2 and 5p′[3/2]1 excited states. While a significant influence of the cascade photon on the linear polarization has been observed, a much smaller effect has been shown on the spin‐dependent polarization of the decay photons. The agreement between the theoretical predictions and the experimental data improves after taking into account the cascade effects.
