Abstract

A 62-year-old-male with history of Crohn's disease treated with prednisone and 6-mercaptopurine presented to the endocrine clinic for evaluation of osteoporosis. The patient underwent a dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) scan with T-scores of: spine -2.9, hip -2.0, and femoral neck -3.0. Upon review of the DXA scan, the patient was noted to have scattered pin-point marks throughout the paraspinal area (Fig. 1 A). For further evaluation, the patient underwent an acute abdominal series with a reproduced symmetric pattern (Fig. 1 B, C). What is the diagnosis?
