Abstract

Visual acuity and contrast spectral sensitivity of the human eye is defined. A number of narrow and high maxima manifests itself on the obtained spectral sensitivity curves. The position of these maxima partially coincides with that of known maxima on the spectral sensitivity curves obtained by a constant brightness method with small fields. It appears that with 0.001 nt luminance contrast discrimination with a non-fixed line of vision is defined solely by the cones. From the experimental results it follows that spectral eye sensitivity is defined not only by the level of luminance of adaptation and retina position but also by the type of the visual task.
