Abstract

ABSTRACTThe issue discussed in this paper springs from the impression that current U.S. Navy warships are not as impressive as they could be or should be. A strong plea is made to consider the value of appearance as an aspect of deterrents and projection of national policy. Additionally, suggestions are made as to how an improved appearance may be achieved, citing for comparison specific examples of some recent U.S. and foreign warships.
