Abstract

Home health providers must develop culturally sensitive and specific programs for many populations. This article outlines the steps agencies and practitioners can take to design these programs. Examples of two specialty programs developed by the Visiting Nurse Service of New York, one focusing on the Jewish and Russian Jewish community and the other on the Asian Home Care Program, provide insight into the importance of a comprehensive approach to all cultural home care programs.
