Abstract
At a time when most of the Western World's Metals producers are in the depths of recession and decreasing their efforts on R & D it is interesting to examine the activity of one of Japan's largest Metals Companies. This report describes the flourishing organisation and successful activities of the Central Research Laboratories of Sumitomo Metals.
