Abstract

Journal Article Visions of Ourselves Get access Patricia L. Ewalt Patricia L. Ewalt Patricia L. Ewalt, PhD, ACSW, is the new editor-in-chief of Social Work and will serve in that capacity for the next four years. Dr. Ewalt is the dean and professor at the University of Hawaii School of Social Work. She has been secretary of the national Board of Directors of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and a member of the Executive Committee. From 1984 to 1990 she was a member of the editorial board of Social Work and from 1978 to 1982 a member and then chair of NASW's Clinical Social Work Council. Dr. Ewalt has represented NASW before congressional committees regarding social work in health care and recently was responsible for organizing the Social Work Congressional Fellows Program. In this editorial. Dr. Ewalt introduces some of the issues with which she will be concerned during her term as editor-in-chief.
