Abstract

Visible light-induced direct C-H difluoromethylation of quinoxalin-2(1 H )-ones by employing [bis(difluoroacetoxy)iodo]benzene as a difluoromethylation reagent is reported for the first time. The inexpensive and readily accessible reagents and the catalysis-Free reaction conditions render this method an alternative and practical strategy for the synthesis of C3-difluoromethylated quinoxalin-2(1 H )-ones. Transition-metal-free trifluoromethylthiolation and difluoromethylthiolation of thiols with trifluoromethanesulfonyl chloride and difluoromethanesulfonyl chloride.
