Abstract
A convenient and efficient synthesis of 2-amino-1,3,4-oxadiazoles from N-acyl thiosemicarbazides employing aerobic visible light photoredox catalysis is reported. The protocol presents the first example of oxidative cyclodesulfurization of N-acyl thiosemicarbazides utilizing visible light and air as inexpensive, readily available, non-toxic, and sustainable reagents.
