Abstract

Under certain conditions of polymerization, a thick interphase can appear in the epoxy/titanium alloys adhesive bonded joints. The hardener nature change, which created the interphase, changes considerably the mechanical properties and ageing resistance of the assemblies. By measurement of fracture energies and physicochemical analysis of the failure facies, this work shows the interphase effect on the adhesive bonded joints mechanical behaviour. Also the beneficial of the interphase formation on ageing resistance is shown.
