Abstract

The viscosities of solutions of tetraethylammonium perchlorate (Et4NClO4), tetrapropylammonium perchlorate (Pr4NClO4), and tetrabutylammonium perchlorate (Bu4NClO4) in 2-methoxyethanol (1) + water (2) mixtures have been measured at 298.15, 308.15, and 318.15 K. The data have been analyzed by the Jones−Dole equation for the associated as well as unassociated electrolytes to evaluate viscosity B coefficients of the electrolytes. The resulting viscosity B coefficient and its dependence on temperature provide useful information with regard to changes in the solvent structure.
