Abstract

The text is a review of the book by Anna Choma-Suwała, published in Lublin in 2019, entitled Reception of Ukrainian poetry by the writers of the Lublin literary community in the interwar period: attempts at interpretation. The researcher briefly discusses all the values of the monograph noticed by her, emphasizing above all its unique and groundbreaking nature. He considers it particularly valuable that Choma-Suwała refers to extensive quotations, quotes fragments of works, and relies on other researchers’ records about the life and work of numerous cultural activists. In the summary of this review, there is a conviction that the reviewed book could be re-issued after corrections and supplements, even in a different, scientific and practical format, especially if the texts of translations appeared next to the critical-literary study. It is mainly about the addition to the book – the publication of an anthology of translations, perhaps the most important ones, of Józef Łobodowski, Józef Czechowicz and Andrzej Jaworski.
