Abstract

SynopsisViruses inciting red clover vein mosaic, pea common mosaic, bean yellow mosaic, Wisconsin pea streak, alsike clover mosaic, and alfalfa mosaic were isolated repeatedly from naturally infected red clover. The first three were most prevalent. The symptoms incited by each virus varied sufficiently from clone to clone so that it was frequently impossible to distinguish the different diseases on the basis of symptoms. Clones differed in their reactions to the viruses studied; some showed a high level of resistance.
