Abstract
Recent literature has pointed to a shortage of places for adolescent girls to publicly yet safely engage in self-narrative. This study considered the WWW as one auspicious location for girls to do so. I used ethnographic content analysis to examine personal World Wide Web (WWW) home pages of ten girls between the ages of 14 and 17. These girls appeared to use their home pages as a forum for self-disclosure, especially self-clarification and self-expression. I address the ramifications of considering girls' home pages as archives for self-disclosure, as well as directions for future research.
