Abstract

In this study, we designed an interface that uses a haptic controller that can control five fingers in virtual reality (VR) and studied the user interface for visual art VR application. The haptic controller interface consists of a haptic controller interface and application module and game engine module. The interface module of the controller measures the pressure sensors and controls the movement of the linear actuator and vibration feedback. The game engine module facilitates the physics-based interaction between the haptic controller and virtual object in the Unity game engine. We examined the artists' actions, as performed with the five fingers. Subsequently, using the proposed haptic controller in three modes, spray, brush, and sculpt, we defined the user interface for visual art application.
