Abstract

AbstractStimulated by the presence of virus‐like intracellular inclusions in active lesions of systemic lupus erythematosus and dermatomyositis, virologic studies were carried out on inclusion‐positive biopsies of involved tissues from several patients with active connective tissue diseases. Although infectious agents were not detected, the results are of interest in the context of continuing efforts to demonstrate possible infectious agents in these and other diseases.
