Abstract

Sexual violence against children and adolescents is a topic that has gained visibility in the media and academic work, especially in the areas of Education, Psychology and Social Assistance. This form of violence must be combated and confronted with the help of the whole society, because it is a problem of great scope that occurs on a large scale. From this, this article aims to discuss some concepts related to sexual violence against children and adolescents, especially abuse and sexual exploitation, as well as discuss actions – related to school practices – that contribute to the confrontation of this form of aggression. To reach the goals, a bibliographic research was carried out – from academic and scientific materials (mainly articles and books) that have already been published on the subject – and documentary research – presenting some laws (Law no. 2,848 / 1940, Law no. 8,069 / 1990, Law no. 12.015 / 2009) on the object delimited. We concluded that silencing is also one of the aggravating factors related to sexual violence against children and adolescents and that school institutions can contribute to coping with this practice that still makes thousands of victims every year in Brazil.
