Abstract

The relevance of the study carried out in this article is to seek to establish relationshipsbetween the social isolation imposed during the COVID-19 pandemic and the changes inthe number of reports of domestic violence against women in the Specialized Division inAssistance to Women (DEAM) of Belem, Capital of the State of Para. The objective of thestudy is to analyze all police reports registered at DEAM Belem during the COVID-19 pandemic, from March to July 2020, with the information obtained from the Assistant Secretariat for Intelligence and Criminal Analysis of the State of Para (SIAC). The research carriedout was of a documentary, quantitative and descriptive nature, through an exploratorystudy. The results revealed that, from March to July 2020, most of the reports made wererelated to psychological violence, motivated by hatred / revenge, during the night, withSunday as the most frequent day of the week, the month of July, the 8th Integrated PublicSecurity Area (AISP) and the Pedreira neighborhood, which obtained the highest numberof police reports. When comparing the reposrts made during the COVID-19 pandemic period with the same period in previous years, it was concluded that there was a reductionin the number of reports and a change in the results of the analyzed variables.
