Abstract

Objective: to describe the frequency and location of reported cases of violence against women (VAW) in the city of Campinas, from 2019 to 2020, as well as data that may be associated. Methods: secondary data from the city of Campinas was used. Descriptive analyzes were carried out considering variables such as place of residence, place of occurrence, income, age, race/color and education of victims between 2019 and 2020. Results: in 2019, there were 925 cases reported. White women were the most affected. The most affected age group was 40 to 59 years. Physical violence was the most common. The spouse was the main author. In 2020, 792 cases were recorded, with similar patterns. The eastern region had a higher incidence in both years. Conclusion: VAW cases in Campinas were high in 2019 and 2020. Violence affects all regions of the city, regardless of socioeconomic conditions.
