Abstract

It is common knowledge that men’s and women’s path is a pre-determined struggle for the utopian ideal of perfect liberty. In today’s world, society seeks to give to man/woman what it feels is his/her natural right. This sentiment rings true in the words of Thomas Jefferson when he said that all people are born free and equal. It is to this end, that society is plunged in a state of constant re-evaluation on basic social norms that order human conduct. This re-evaluation seeks to eliminate, or at the very least, reduce the effect of incidences of birth, such as race, economic position and other like factors, that perpetuate the incidence of inequality in man’s/woman’s relationship with his fellows. The manifestation of this inequality is in form of the denial of woman’s right to dignity.
