Abstract

The results of monitoring of the concentrations of nitrates, nitrites, and ammonium nitrogen in glacial rivers of the Central Caucasus during the winter low-water and summer high water in 2017‒2019 are discussed. High concentrations were revealed, which changed the component proportion toward accumulation of nitrites and ammonia nitrogen. Analysis of the annual variations of pollutant concentration showed a tendency for their decrease in 2019. The actual water quality was assessed with respect to ecological classes and maximum permissible concentrations.
