Abstract

Abstract Polymerization of acenaphthylene was studied kinetically in heptane or toluene in the presence of titanium butanate-aluminum triethyl or titanium butanate-lithium aluminum hydride at 40∼95°C. Activation energy was computed as 14.3 and about 13kcal./mol. Molecular weight of the polymer obtained was 125000, while [η]Benzene30° was only 0.035 (c=g./ 100ml.).
