Abstract
It was conducted a field research in order to analyze the influence of the student leadership in linking with the community in the Educational Unit Riobamba, city of Manta. There were applied the deductive-inductive, analytical-synthetic, hypothetical-deductive and the descriptive methods; supported by the survey and interview techniques. The results show lack of concern of teachers for the leadership development of students, due to ignorance of the issue; the persistence of traditional mindsets that limit an adequate institutional management; a non-ideal family environment characterized by mistrust, domestic violence; lack of attention to the educational process, among other factors, requiring to develop strategies that allow to solve the problem.
