Abstract

Dear Editor, Vincristine is a vinca alkaloid derived from the periwinkle plant, Catharanthus rosea. It is widely used in the treatment of neoplastic diseases and is a potent agent in the armory for the treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Its doselimiting toxicity is neuropathy, which may include peripheral (motor/sensory), autonomic, cranial nerve neuropathies, or encephalopathy. Peripheral (paraesthesia, neuritic pain) and autonomic (constipation, urinary retention) neuropathies are well described.
