Abstract

The article aims to comprehend the methodological legacy of Viktor Yakovlevich Bulokhov (1933–2022), a doctor of pedagogical sciences, professor, prominent Russian scientist. The paper briefly highlights the biography of the researcher. Analysing the main writings of V. Ya. Bulokhov, we identify the key areas of his scientific research, present the most significant conclusions, and evaluate their practical significance. It is emphasised that V. Ya. Bulokhov considered the issues of methodology from a psycholinguistics perspective, i. e. in light of the theory of speech activity. Many methodological solutions the scientist proposed are radical, sometimes unexpected, but always theoretically substantiated and experimentally confirmed. It is concluded that they have not lost their relevance so far. They deserve a thorough examination and ought to be consistently applied in modern school practice.
