Abstract
The incidence of psoriasis in general population ranges from 1 to 2%, similar to that found in patients with HIV, who despite having a diminished Th1 response, are affected by a more severe form of the psoriatic disease and more refractory to conventional treatments. We present the case of a patient with HIV and severe skin lesions, compromising most of the body surface. After receiving a methotrexate therapy, started due the extensive cutaneous involvement, an improvement of the lesions was evidenced. It should be noted that the presentation of skin diseases varies in the different states of immunosuppression, and likewise, the proposed treatment must be the one that does not worsen their condition and does not interact with antiretroviral drugs.
