Abstract

To the Editor: I read with interest the report by Krauss et al.1 on visual and ERG abnormalities in epileptic patients taking vigabatrin. The presence of field constriction as an infrequent complication of vigabatrin therapy has been previously documented2 and is of clinical relevance. It is important to evaluate carefully the evidence for the authors' hypothesis that the visual complications of vigabatrin are due to dysfunction in the inner retinal layers of the cone system.
