Abstract

The review section in this issue features five exciting new books by scholars working in Canada or working on the subject of Canadian performance. The books represent some of the most important recent developments in the international field of theatre and performance studies and attest to the rich and vibrant conversations about performance that are currently taking place in Canada. In order to showcase emerging voices within the discipline, each book selected for review is either written by a junior scholar (pre-tenure faculty) or is based on an author’s PhD dissertation. The reviewers, correspondingly, are a group of emerging scholars, who have lent their own expertise in specific areas of performance scholarship to contextualize these new books and reflect on their contributions to the field.
