Abstract

Norman H. Danylo is a graduate of the Royal Military College of Canada. He has served in the Armed Forces Construction Engineering Branch for 10 years. He has been with the City of Montreal for the past 22 years, mostly with the Department of Public Works, where he was responsible for the roads maintenance programs, as well as for the overall coordination of works in city streets. While there he developed and implemented Montreal's road maintenance policy. For the past 2 years, as a member of the Finance Department, he has been responsible for developing and implementing an asset management policy for the City of Montreal. Norm is the past president of the Canadian Public Works Association and has held several positions with the American Public Works Association (APWA) and the Transportation Association of Canada. He currently heads an international APWA Task Force on developing asset management.
