Abstract
Since the 1945 August Revolution, Vietnamese has been used as the national language and taught in all levels including higher education. Accordingly, an urgent demand is to quickly establish a system of scientific terminology. There are many ways to establish the system of terminology from many different sciences sothere are many homonyms among them. It is advisable that problem should be handled gradually; for example, the rules on new Vietnamese standard pronunciation and spelling should be determined to write terms accurately. That requires to distinguish between the multi-disciplinary homonyms of terms and phonetic transcription in order to establish an explanatory dictionary of homonyms. It is necessary that a national arbitration agency should be formed to solve this issue.
