Abstract

Abstract The relevance of the subject is conditioned by the rapid technical development and active digitalisation of the creative space. Video mapping technologies have become one of the manifestations of art modernisation, a kind of change in the form of the demonstration of visual images. The purpose of the study is to determine ways to involve video mapping technologies in the progressive evolution of the artistic process into new forms of spatial augmented reality. Identifying the potential capabilities of video mapping will allow the expansion of the range of creative expression tools at the level of advanced technical capabilities. Among the scientific methods for this study, some general scientific methods were used: analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, modelling, abstraction, reductionism and methods of comparison and analogy. The main result of the study is a statement of a radical change in the approach to art in the modern world, based on the visualisation of subjects and images using new expressive means. Thus, augmented reality as an entertaining element of artistic performance is the embodiment of the iconic characteristics of the postmodern era, where the role of a person in the creative process remains key, but the means of one’s self-expression have become different. During the study, conclusions were drawn about the emergence of art to a new level, where the empathic perception of reality is complicated by modern opportunities in the context of technological advances, which, in turn, sets new standards and requirements for the results of the creative process.
