Abstract

Lung cancer with endobronchial involvement presents a unique surgical challenge. Sleeve lobectomy has overtaken pneumonectomy as the standard principle of resection. Although video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) has revolutionized many other aspects of thoracic surgery, its application to this entity has remained slow. Our centre has developed an experience with video-assisted sleeve lobectomy. We present video cases of three video-assisted sleeve lobectomies with bronchoplasty procedures for tumors involving the left lower-, left upper-, and right upper lobe bronchi. All patients had excellent oncologic resections and clinical outcomes. We hope this report will aid in increasing adoption of this worthwhile procedure.
