Abstract

The value of arthrography in problematic cases of hip dysplasia is presented together with the indications for this examination. A series of 75 cases performed in a two year period is analysed. Comparison is drawn of the information, presentation and the radiation dose involved for (a) conventional radiography, (b) 70 mm fluorography and (c) video-arthrography. It is concluded that video-recording is the best, not only because the radiation dose is the smallest, but also because it records the whole procedure. A spot film should be included for permanent record.
