Abstract

The Vice President occupies the second highest office in the country. He is next to the President of India in the official warrant of precedence. The Vice President, like the President, is elected by the indirect election. He is elected by the members of an electoral college consisting of the members of both houses of Parliament. The fifteenth election of the Vice President was held in August 2017 and Venkaiah Naidu was elected the thirteenth Vice president of India.
