Abstract

Introduction. The excited electronic-vibrational states of molecules participate in the processes of light absorption, luminescence, and Raman scattering (RS) and therefore the vibtonic and RS spectra are strongly related. Actually, the processes of absorption, scattering and radiation are different specific cases of the interaction between light and matter. Meanwhile for decades the absorption and luminescence spectra and RS spectra were studied experimentally by means of completely different instruments and by different scientists, and the theoreticlans who developed the methods of calculation and interpretation of these spectra also belonged to different scientific schools and groups. As was correctly mentioned in [i], it is of special interest for molecular spectroscopy to build a bridge between these two artificially separated fields electronic spectroscopy and usual RS vibrational spectroscopy. In addition, at the present time the theories of electronic spectra and RS spectra have reached such a high level that it is urgent to unite the computer calculation programs of both types of spectra.
