Abstract
The free vibrations of flexible shallow shells with complex planform are studied. To analyze the natural frequencies and modes of linear vibrations, the R-function and Rayleigh–Ritz methods are used. A discrete model is obtained using the Bubnov–Galerkin method. The nonlinear vibrations are studied by combining the nonlinear normal mode method and the multiple-scales method.
