Abstract
We study numerically and analytically a simple off-lattice modelof scalar harmonic vibrations by means of Euclidean randommatrix theory. Since the spectrum of this model shares the mostpuzzling spectral features with the high-frequency domain ofglasses (non-Rayleigh broadening of the Brillouin peak, bosonpeak and secondary peak), Euclidean random matrix theoryprovides a single and fairly simple theoretical framework fortheir explanation.
