Abstract

The rotational constants A″ and ζ values have been determined by the analysis of the rotational structure of the perpendicular bands of GeH3F, GeH3Cl, GeH3Br, and GeH3I. By combining the microwave and the infrared data, the structural parameters of some of the germyl halide molecules have been refined. A strong rotational perturbation was observed in the GeH3 deformation fundamental v5 of GeH3Br which has been interpreted as a second-order Coriolis interaction between two fundamental vibrations (v2 and v5) of different symmetry.
