Abstract

Expressions taking into account dependence on the rotational quantum number and gas temperature have been obtained for determining vibrational temperatures in CO 2 by the ratio of small-signal gain coefficients on the lines of the sequence, the hot and the regular band. The probabilities of spontaneous radiation for laser transitions of the sequence band 00°2-[10°1, 02°1] I,II have been obtained and approximated by analytical expressions. The phenomenon of gain limitation in electric-discharge CO 2 lasers is discussed.
