Abstract
In thiazyl trifluoride derivatives, L-NSF3, the wavenumbers of the NSF3 normal vibrations are shifted to higher values. The calculation of the force constants shows that the NS bond strength increases by up to 40 % compared to NSF3. The influence of the group L on the NS bond can be described in terms of the force constants. Using three correlations, the NS bond length is determined, and the shortest nitrogen-sulphur bond distance is postulated for the cation CH3-NSF+3.
