Abstract

It is shown that the dependence of the angular asymmetry parameter β on the vibrational state, which has been found in the photoelectron spectra of some polyatomic molecules, can be explained by vibronic interactions. It is proposed that measurements of β as a function of the vibrational state may be used as a tool to analyze vibronic coupling effects in photoelectron spectra.
