Abstract

Abstract , and irreducible representations of , of character tables of normal modes of vibration This chapter mainly deals with the study of vibrational spectra of crystal and molecular samples. It includes: (i)The study of theoretical and experimental aspects of vibrational spectroscopy in infra-red (IR) region. (ii)Discussion of fundamental theories and related experimental methods such as IR, FTIR, Raman and FT Raman to obtain the vibrational spectra of given crystal/molecular sample. (iii)Comparison of theoretically calculated modes of vibrations for the given sample with the experimental results.
