Abstract
New vibrational spectral data for (π-MeC 5H 4)Mn(CO) 3 and [(π-MeC 5H 4)Mo(CO) 3] 2 including the i.r. spectrum of a deuterated sample of the manganese complex have permitted a new assignment of MeC 5H 4 modes. The effective ring symmetry has been shown to be C s and that of the Mn(CO) 3 top less than C 3ν .
