Abstract
The Raman (40–1200 cm −1) and i.r. (30–2200 cm −1) spectra were measured of the complexes Cs 2[ M(CO) X 5] ( M = Os, Ru, Ir, Rh; X = Cl, Br; M = Ir, Rh; X = I) in the solid state. Assignments of fundamental modes are proposed on the basis of these spectra, and those of 13C-enriched samples of two of the salts.
