Abstract

The polarized i.r. spectra and the Raman spectra of N, N-dimethylsulfamide and its C, C′-and N, N-deuterated compounds in the solid state have been measured. Vibrational assignments have been made by referring to the isotopic frequency shifts and the i.r. dichroism. A normal coordinate analysis based on the molecular symmetry of C s has been carried out by using the modified Urey-Bradley force field. The C s model reproduced well the observed fundamental frequencies of the four isotopic molecules.
